LAWSON ESTATE AGENTS M.D. DARREN IS THE NEW PAPPA CHAIR

The managing director of Lawson Estate Agents has been chosen as the next chair of the Plymouth Area Property Professionals Association. (PAPPA)

 Darren Lawson will take up the post for the next two years overseeing the work of the association, which was first formed in 1951.

 Experienced property professional Darren, who is a past chair of PAPPA, recently oversaw the transition of his established High Street estate agency business from Mansbridge Balment Plymouth to Lawson Estate Agents, which has two offices in Plymouth.

 He will work alongside Mark Christie of Plymouth Block Management, who was chosen as the new vice-chair of the association.

 “I am delighted to, once again, take on the role of chair of an association which has such a long and distinguished history in Plymouth, said Darren.

 “PAPPA continues to play a vital role in the city’s property industry, bringing together professionals from a number of different disciplines to share best practice, ensuring customer service excellence at all times.

 “PAPPA is an industry badge of honour and professionalism that every one of our members is proud to wear. “

 Both key appointments were made at the association’s latest quarterly meeting held at Plymouth’s Duke of Cornwall Hotel.

 A new social committee has also been established by PAPPA to organise the programme of social and charitable events that are usually staged across the year.

 The committee members will be Richard Rabin and James Clarke of Lang Town and Country, Martyn West of Moving On Estate Agents and James Deacon of Citylets

 Members also thanked outgoing chair Ben Dreher, a Director at Lawson Estate Agents, for his dedication and hard work during the past two years.

 “I feel proud to have followed in the footsteps of so many illustrious Plymouth property professionals who have led our association,” said Ben.

 “I would particularly like to thank Debbie Lawson for supporting me so tirelessly throughout my tenure and wish Darren every success in the role.

 “He is no stranger to the requirements of job, so I know I leave it in very capable hands.”

 Since it was first established, PAPPA has grown to encompass a wide range of property industry professionals with a combined experience of more than 500 years.
