A ‘HOLE’ LOT OF GOLFING FUN AND GAMES IS A GREAT RESULT FOR CHARITY!
Golfers ‘putt’ in a great performance at a charity tournament organised by Plymouth property professionals – raising several thousand pounds for two local good causes.
Plymouth charities Horizons Children’s Sailing Charity and Friends and Families of Special Children Ltd, will benefit from the Plymouth Area Property Professionals Association (PAPPA) event, which was followed by a fund raising, black tie dinner.
The China Fleet Country Club in Saltash was the venue for this year’s tournament won by Desmond and Co Estate Agents (pictured) based in Plymouth. Woollcombe Young Solicitors were runners-up with the team from Lang Town and Country Estate Agents finishing in third place.
PAPPA Chairman Ben Dreher, a Director at Mansbridge Balment Plymouth, said: “This year’s event was a tremendous success, the venue was excellent and we were also blessed with some terrific, sunny weather.
“A big thank you to all our sponsors on the day who donated some fantastic raffle prizes – and in particular Zoopla, who were kind enough to donate some mobile phone chargers and golf umbrellas.”
James Robinson, Area Manager for Zoopla, who was among around 100 guests who attended the charity dinner said: “I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and it was great to see so many property professionals from different companies working together for the benefit of local charities.”
Ben also thanked PAPPA secretary Debbie Lawson, and Maitlands Estate Agents staff Natalie Ebsworth and Helen Moore for their particular hard work in organising the event – and on the day.
Sponsors who donated prizes for the raffle were:
- Ocean BMW – use of a Mini for the weekend
- Plymouth Argyle – signed 2018 team football
- Plymouth Gin – gin distillery tour
- Le Vignoble- wine tasting for two
- Mansbridge Balment – chocolate hamper
- Barron Surveyors – bottle of prosecco
- Horizons Children’s Sailing Charity – afternoon sailing for 4
- China Fleet – four ball game of golf.
Horizons Children’s Sailing Charity was formed in 1991 with the aim of building links with communities, schools and families in areas of social deprivation in Plymouth to offer a range of sailing activities.
Friends and Families of Special Children Ltd, a new beneficiary to PAPPA, is also based in Plymouth. A non-profit organisation, it provides information, support and services for families with disabled children, including social and leisure events.
